About this Event
The presentation will be delivered by Zoom over a 40minute period with a Q&A session if time permits. It will focus on sound insulation test requirements and the requirements of TGD-E,2014 with explanations on both airborne and impact noise and an interpretation of the performance metrics used (Dntw, Lntw). Additionally, it will describe ‘a set of tests’ and test requirements for developments built in accordance with the wall types and floor types in TGD-E,2014 and additional requirements for ‘other constructions’. The presentation will discuss reverberation requirements for corridors, stairwells and common areas. It is proposed that the webinar will assist builders, contractors and construction professionals in the interpretation and understanding of the pre-completion test requirements of TGD-E,2014. The presentation promises to be informative and practical to those in attendance.
About the presenter:
Diarmuid Keaney works as a noise and vibration consultant for ICAN Acoustics which originally commenced trading in 1998 (www.acoustics.ie). ICAN Acoustics has a wide variety of clients ranging from state authorities, national power companies to industrial and private clients. Diarmuid holds a Master’s of Science in Applied acoustics awarded by Derby University (Distinction), a Diploma in Acoustics in Noise Control (Merit)and a B.E. Honours Degree from the National University of Ireland(2:1). Diarmuid is the current Chair of the Association of Acoustic Consultants of Ireland, a full member of the UK’s Institute of Acoustics and Engineers Ireland. Diarmuid has formally studied Building and Architectural Acoustics and has provided both design advice and sound insulation testing in Ireland for nearly 20 years. He has contributed to multiple government guidance documents and been involved in a number of consultations in the preparation of guidance and regularly presents on his subject.
