Most pub landlords are likely to encourage their customers to leave quietly but some don’t seem to care at all judging by this note.

It reminds its regulars that making a little noise when leaving the pub after a few beverages is perfectly acceptable and that other customers have been doing the same for years.

The polite notice says: “When leaving the premises, please remind our neighbours that drunk people have been loudly leaving this establishment long before they decided to buy houses next door to it.”

“If the noise was there before the housing there should be no basis for noise complaints,” commented one user.

Another added: “I love this and so true. It’s like buying a house next to the airport and complaining about the noise.”
