Plans to build 46 new flats and shops next door to a pub in Moseley in Birmingham which has been running for more than a hundred years have been approved. This is the third application to be considered and approved.

There are fears for the Prince of Wales pub’s future, because managers are concerned that if any of the new residents from the flats objects to noise from the pub, it could have to close down.

Other business owners though say the new development will help regenerate the area. And the developers Mosley Central Ltd says this application has been with Birmingham City Council for 10 months in order to ensure a thorough review of all issues, including noise.
